In our society, most people are being
judged on how their skin color looks or how they dress. In my opinion it is
true because people tend to look at you in a different way if you don’t have
money, or fancy clothes on. How do we expect the environment to change if it’s
all about following a trend?
Take me way
back to my middle school days, it was my first day of 6th grade on
September 4, 2010. I had no clue how it was going to be. As soon as I stepped
in, I knew I had to grab my schedule in order to know what classes I had to go
to. Waiting in line, I was one of the shortest Asians in there. I started to
notice everybody looking at me and people giggling in the background. In my
head, I told myself, “Are people laughing at me because I’m small? “ I finally
got done waiting in line and got my schedule and started heading to class.
Walking around, I seen everybody looking at me weird.
I tried to ignore them because I
didn’t want any problems with anybody. I sat down in class and around me I
heard people saying “Chino” as in Chinese. It made me mad in the inside but I
held it in. I had no choice but to say nothing back because I was new to the
school. I noticed they made fun of me because I was not “Their kind.” But I
continued my day and told my friends about the story and they told me to just
ignore them.
In my conclusion, we need to make a
big change in our community. You can’t
judge someone by how they look. Just like a book, you don’t know what’s inside
until you open it. It’s about respect, if you treat people the way you want to
be treated it will all come back to you. B e positive and don’t make fun of
people by how they look. It can hurt people inside without you even knowing it.
I agree that most people are being judged on how their skin looks and how they dress, so we should respect and treat each other equally. You do a nice job on your personal experience and the conclusion. I like the part that you wrote, "You can’t judge someone by how they look. Just like a book, you don’t know what’s inside until you open it." This means we can't judge a book by it cover.
